Begin your Tibet adventure with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to the Kerung Border through beautiful Himalayan landscapes. After completing border formalities, meet your Tibetan crew and continue to your hotel for an overnight stay in Kerung.
Time: 5 to 6 hours
Drive from Kerung to Tingri through spectacular Himalayan landscapes, with views of Mount Cho Oyu and Shishapangma along the way. Arrive at Tingri (4,300 m) and enjoy your first glimpse of Mount Everest before resting for the night.
Time: 5 hours
Drive from Tingri to Rongbuk Monastery, the world’s highest monastery at 5,000 m, with breathtaking views of the Tibetan Plateau and Everest’s north face. Hike to Everest Base Camp and return to the monastery guest house for a peaceful overnight stay.

After breakfast at Rongbuk Monastery, cross Gyatchu La Pass (5,220 m), the highest point of the journey, with spectacular views of the Himalayas and Tibetan Plateau. Continue through remote landscapes and villages to Shigatse, Tibet’s second-largest city, for an overnight stay.
