Annapurna Circuit Trek
The 13-day Annapurna Circuit Trek is one of Nepal’s most iconic Himalayan journeys, known for its diverse landscapes, rich cultural experiences, and stunning mountain scenery.
The adventure starts with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Taal (1,700 m / 5,577 ft), where the trekking trail begins. From there, the route winds through the Marsyangdi River Valley, passing traditional villages like Dharapani (1,860 m / 6,102 ft), Chame (2,670 m / 8,760 ft), Upper Pisang (3,300 m / 10,826 ft), and Manang (3,540 m / 11,614 ft).
After a rest and acclimatization day in Manang, the trail continues upward through alpine terrain to Yak Kharka (4,050 m / 13,287 ft) and Thorong Phedi (4,540 m / 14,895 ft), before reaching the most demanding and rewarding section of the trek — the Thorong La Pass (5,416 m / 17,769 ft). From the top, you are rewarded with sweeping views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.
The descent leads into the sacred site of Muktinath (3,760 m / 12,336 ft), followed by the historic villages of Kagbeni (2,800 m / 9,186 ft) and Jomsom (2,720 m / 8,924 ft), where the trekking route ends with a drive or flight to Pokhara.
Covering elevations from 1,700 m to 5,416 m, this trek is classified as moderate to challenging, suitable for trekkers with good fitness and a passion for both natural beauty and cultural exploration. The route constantly changes—from green valleys and forests to dry, high-altitude Himalayan landscapes.
The best seasons for this trek are autumn (September–November) and spring (March–May), when the weather is stable and visibility is at its best.
