Located in the remote northeastern part of the Annapurna range, Himlung Himal (7,126 m) stands close to the Tibetan border in one of Nepal’s most secluded mountain regions. This expedition combines a gradual approach through the Annapurna region with a dramatic transition into a high-altitude, barren Himalayan wilderness.
The journey begins in Manang, following part of the classic Annapurna Circuit route before branching off toward the isolated valley of Koto. The initial section includes a short road journey of two days, after which the trek continues on foot for around five days, including a dedicated acclimatization stop to prepare for higher elevations.
As the trail moves beyond the main trekking corridor, the landscape transforms completely—lush valleys give way to a stark, rugged, and almost otherworldly environment, reflecting the raw beauty of the trans-Himalayan region.
The expedition base is established at Base Camp (4,900 m), followed by a carefully structured ascent through High Camps I, II, and III, located at approximately 5,450 m, 6,000 m, and 6,350 m respectively. From here, climbers make their summit push to the elegant and aesthetically striking peak of Himlung Himal.
While Himlung is considered one of the more accessible 7,000-meter peaks in Nepal, it remains a serious high-altitude climb that demands excellent physical fitness, mental endurance, and prior mountaineering experience. The altitude places significant stress on the body, and proper acclimatization is essential for success.
With a strong Sherpa support ratio, structured pacing, and well-planned acclimatization strategy, Best Route Trek Nepal ensures climbers are fully supported throughout the expedition—maximizing both safety and summit success while allowing you to truly enjoy the experience of standing atop a Himalayan 7,000-meter peak.
